WHO WE ARE
The Nexus Health team believes people deserve to understand what’s happening in their bodies and have a clear plan for what to do next.
When you still don’t feel well, being told your labs are normal can leave you unsure of what to do next. Those questions deserve time and a closer look at your symptoms, intake data, and results.
You may have blood work from your regular doctor and more tests from your functional medicine provider. Then there’s your DNA report and the data from your watch. You have all this information about your health, but it’s spread out, and you’re left trying to understand how it all fits together.
The Nexus Health team started with DNA and blood work because each gives us different clues. We wanted to help people and their doctors understand what those clues might mean when viewed together.
The Nexus Health team built this platform for you and the doctors who care for you. We wanted to make it easier to understand your health and give functional medicine doctors a better way to see how your results fit together. Making that help affordable for more people is a big part of why we’re doing this.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
These are the things we want people to be able to count on when they work with us.
A single result can only tell us so much. We look at how the clues fit together.
No data sold, no pharmaceutical relationships, no reason to suggest anything but what’s right for you.
You should be able to see why a finding was raised and ask questions about it.
Your health changes over time. We believe understanding it should be an ongoing conversation.
MEET THE FOUNDERS
They built Nexus because they needed answers, too.
For Steven and John, this work is personal. One lost his father before learning about a genetic trait they shared. The other spent 20 years living with a chronic condition, with treatments that never fully explained his symptoms.
They built Nexus for people still looking for answers, and for the doctors trying to help them.
MEET THE HUMANS
The Nexus Health team brings together experience in healthcare technology, design and compliance. We’re working to make health information easier to understand and more useful for the people who rely on it.

Talk with our teamCo-Founder & CIO
John Whitman has spent over a decade designing systems where failure was not an option. Pharma-grade data centers. Federal compliance environments. 1,500+ hypervisors, 25,000+ servers. VCDX #226. Principal Systems Engineer at SpaceX, where he built infrastructure for launch systems, Starlink, and Star Base.
He came to healthcare the same way he came to every other domain: as an engineer who wanted to understand the requirements before writing a line of code. What he found was a field with more raw data than almost any other, and almost no infrastructure for making it reason across systems. Labs siloed from genetics. Genetics siloed from clinical history. Clinicians synthesizing manually what a well-built system should be able to structure.
He built it for clinicians who already understand the complexity of what they’re managing. They don’t need a system that simplifies their work. They need one that structures it well enough to trust.
Co-Founder & CEO
Steven Taylor spent nine years at VMware, held VP of Solutions Engineering at Riverbed, and served as Executive Director at Wells Fargo overseeing cloud product adoption at scale. His career has been built on one skill: taking complex systems and making them legible to the humans who have to trust them enough to act.
He came to Nexus not as an investor or a technologist with a healthcare hypothesis. He came as a patient. For 20 years he managed an autoimmune condition that at its worst left him unable to walk without help. He tried every approach available, conventional and functional, and worked with clinicians who were excellent within their domain and had no visibility beyond it. The consistent failure was not a lack of care or competence. It was a lack of structure.
Labs in one place, genetics in another, clinical history scattered across providers, and no system that could read all of it together.
When his co-founder John Whitman brought him the BioMatrix concept, Steven did not evaluate it as a co-founder first. He tested it on himself, on 20 years of his own clinical data. What came back was not new data. The data had always existed. What was new was seeing it prioritized, sequenced, and read across systems in a way that finally made clinical sense.
That is why he is building Nexus. Not to replace the clinicians who spent those 20 years working through his case. To give them a better tool for doing what only they can do.

Head of Business Development
Tasha has been building things on the internet since 2003, long before anyone called it digital marketing. After a decade at a San Francisco marketing firm, she stepped away in 2020 to homeschool her kids. When Nexus Health came along, she dusted off her skills to join something she genuinely believed in.
She is not a healthcare person by training. She is a researcher and a builder who fell in love with a problem worth solving. At Nexus Health, that problem is a personal one: real people with real answers finally within reach.
Today she leads digital strategy, campaigns, social media, and the vendor and partner relationships that keep the company moving. What drives her is the intersection of new ideas and real outcomes. She would rather test something and learn than wait until it is perfect.
Compliance Officer
